What's new in Akari

Every update, newest first. Akari installs them on its own: when one is ready, click Restart to update in the sidebar.

MacLatest
  • Ads are blocked out of the box: Akari installs uBlock Origin Lite for you.
  • Tabs and tab groups open on your other computers show up in the command bar (Cmd+T). Type a group's name to open the whole group here.
  • A cleaner What's new card, and new installs no longer show it.
Mac
  • The sidebar opens right away when you push the mouse to the edge of the screen.
  • The sidebar opens on hover even while you're using another app.
WindowsLatest
  • Akari for Windows: tabs in a sidebar that tucks away, favorites in a grid, and one color for the whole window.
  • Sign in with your email to keep favorites and your color the same on your Mac and PC.
  • Akari updates itself. When a new version is ready, click Restart to update in the sidebar.
  • Moving the mouse over from another monitor no longer pops the sidebar open.
Mac
  • Sign in to sync: use your email, and approve new computers from one you're already signed in on.
  • Akari updates itself now. When a new version is ready, click Restart to update in the sidebar.
  • This card: see what changed after each update, and every past update from the Sync panel.
  • Moving the mouse over from another monitor no longer pops the sidebar open.
  • Akari's arch logo replaces the Chromium logo in Settings and elsewhere.
