Privacy Policy

The short version

Sawhorse does not collect any information about you. It has no account, no sign-in and no advertising. Everything you type stays on your device. The only thing it sends is an anonymous count of a few moments in the app, which cannot identify you (section 4a).

1. Who we are

Sawhorse is made by 0ARCH, based in Miami, Florida. You can reach us at support@0arch.io.

2. What the app stores, and where

Your calculations (the tape), your tool inputs, and your settings such as fraction precision and preferred units are saved only on your iPhone or iPad, in the app's own storage. They are included in your normal device backup if you have iCloud Backup or a computer backup turned on, which is handled by Apple under Apple's terms. We never see this data and cannot access it.

When you share a tape or a tool sheet as text or a PDF, the file is created on your device and handed to the app you choose (Messages, Mail, Files, and so on). Where it goes from there is up to you and that app.

3. Purchases

Sawhorse Pro is a one-time purchase handled entirely by Apple through the App Store. Apple processes the payment and tells the app whether the purchase exists on your Apple account. We do not receive your name, email address, payment details, or any identifier from that transaction. Apple's handling of purchase data is described in Apple's privacy policy.

4. Network access

Apart from the anonymous counts described next, the app makes no network requests. The other connections made while you use Sawhorse are the ones the App Store makes to load and verify the Sawhorse Pro purchase, which are Apple's.

4a. Anonymous usage counts

Starting with version 1.0.1, Sawhorse sends anonymous counts of a few moments in the app, such as "the app was opened", "a calculation was finished" or "the upgrade screen was shown", so we can tell which parts of the app are working. Each report contains only the app's name, the event name and whether it came from the App Store or a test build. It contains no name, no device or advertising identifier, no install identifier, and nothing you typed. Our server adds one to a daily counter for that event and keeps nothing else. Our host, Cloudflare, necessarily sees the IP address of the connection in order to deliver the request, but we do not log or store it, so the numbers can never be traced back to you or your device. The data is not used for advertising and is not shared with anyone.

5. Children

Sawhorse is a general-purpose tool and is not directed at children. It collects no personal information from anyone, including children.

6. Changes

If a future version of Sawhorse ever collects or sends information, this page will say so before that version ships, and the date at the top will change.
