Privacy Policy

1. Overview

Sayo is a voice-first note-taking app developed by 0ARCH (ZeroArch LLC), based in Miami, FL. This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use Sayo on iOS.

2. Information We Collect

Information you provide:

• Name and email address (via Apple Sign In, optional)
• Voice recordings (audio files stored on your device and optionally synced via iCloud)

Information generated by the app:

• Transcriptions of your voice recordings (processed via Apple's on-device Speech Recognition framework, which may use Apple's servers)
• AI-extracted tasks, events, and ideas (processed via on-device Foundation Models on iOS 26+, or Anthropic Claude Haiku API as a fallback)
• A random Support ID used only for support ticket identification

3. How Your Data Is Stored

• On-device: Audio files are stored in the app sandbox. All memo data is stored via SwiftData. Preferences and your API key are stored via UserDefaults.
• iCloud sync: Memos, extracted items, and extracted events may be synced via Apple CloudKit if you have an iCloud account. If iCloud is unavailable, the app operates in local-only mode.

4. Third-Party Services

• Apple CloudKit: Used for iCloud sync of memo data. Subject to Apple's privacy policy.
• Apple Speech Framework: Used for transcription. Audio may be sent to Apple's servers unless on-device recognition is available on your device.
• Anthropic API (api.anthropic.com): Used as a fallback for AI extraction only. Sends transcript text using your own API key. No data is stored by Anthropic beyond their standard API data retention terms.
• Apple StoreKit 2: Used for subscription management. No third-party payment processors are involved.

5. What We Do NOT Collect

• No analytics or tracking SDKs
• No advertising identifiers
• No location data
• No contacts
• No third-party logins besides Apple Sign In
• No data is sold to third parties

6. Data Deletion

You can delete your data at any time:

• Use the “Clear All Data” option in Settings to delete all memos and extracted items.
• Uninstalling the app removes all local data.
• iCloud data can be removed via iOS Settings > iCloud > Manage Storage.

7. Children's Privacy

Sayo is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

8. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the app constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
